The country’s largest gathering of liquid supplement leaders in manufacturing, nutrition, quality, sales and marketing gather at the American Feed Industry Association’s Liquid Feed Symposium. The annual symposium educates and promotes the agricultural liquid supplement industry through high-quality speaker presentations, research funding reports, achievement recognition and the Liquid Feed Symposium Tradeshow.

The annual Liquid Feed Symposium promises to be an outstanding event in 2013. The AFIA Liquid Feed Committee has developed a speaker line up intended to bring unparalleled take home information to the broad spectrum of liquid feed manufacturers and supporting industries represented at the symposium.

The conference opens with Dr. Art Douglas, Creighton University, and his ever-popular weather update, followed by a regulatory update and HACCP overview from AFIA’s Richard Sellers. Day 1 will also include a closer look at crisis communication from Rick Stott, Agri Beef, and at the global competitiveness of meat production from David Nelson, RaboBank. Join AFIA following the evening reception and network with your peers while watching the home team and 2011 World Series champs take on the Milwaukee Brewers.

Wednesday, Day 2, offers a full day of dynamic presentations on a variety of topics including beef life cycle from Dr. Kim Stackhouse, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and a closer look at the future of the beef packing industry from Dr. Dell Allen, the 2013 Kansas Stockman of the Year. John Geuss, Adisseo, will present on milk pricing, while Dr. Tommy Perkins, Beef Master Breeders United, will discuss cattle stress and marbling. Following the morning presentations, the Hall of Fame inductee will be announced during a luncheon awards ceremony.

The afternoon session for Day 2 will begin with a look at fetal programming by Dr. Kimberly Vonnahme, North Dakota University, a look at milk fat and human health by Dr. Adam Lock, Michigan State University, an GATEWAY TO THE FUTURE energy sources and co-products update from Joe Riley, FEC Solutions, and will close with keynote speaker, Dr. Michael Swanson, Wells Fargo Ag Economist, who will discuss how energy is evolving and changing in relation to agriculture.

On Thursday, the fi nal day of the conference will feature three sessions: a technical presentation on beta-agonists by Dr. Brad Johnson, Texas Tech University, an ingredient forecast by Mark Moss, Westway Feed Products and a cattle market outlook from Randy Blach, CattleFax.
