The cooling sysem is based on the intensive use of forced ventilation, provided by big fans and wetting the cow's fur by sprinklets. constant ventilation and short wetting sessions of 30-40 seonds every 5 minutes. In Israel high yielding cows are cooled for 5-6 cumulative hours per day in 5-8 cooling sessions lasting 30-45 minutes each. Cooling is provided in the holding pen and in the feed line.
