Total NutritionTM program offers valuable solutions for safe, efficient and healthy dairy cattle

Kemin participated in the Kisan Mela in Pantnagar, Uttaranchal March 15-18. At the show, Kemin presented Total NutritionTM solutions that address the rising concerns for meeting increased milk demand by 2020. Over 2000 dairy farmers and feed millers, of small to medium size dairy farms, attended the Mela.

"Kemin recognizes that every dairy farm, both large and small, is trying to meet the increased demand of 180 million liters of milk by 2020," said Mr.Hemant Chugh, Business Development manager for Kemin. "That is why we create innovative solutions that improve feed intake, milk yield, reproductive capacity and overall productivity."

Among all the safe, efficient and healthy product solutions Kemin offers, Kemin focused primarily on Silage Savor, by demonstrating the difference between regular silage and silage treated with Silage Savor. Silage SAVOR®benefits dairy farmers by providing an alternative under difficult harvest conditions to establish a better environment for beneficial bacteria to grow. It benefits animal nutrition by promoting more uniform fermentation, which helps maintain nutrient value by reducing heating and dry matter losses. This process ultimately improves feed intake and immunity of the animal.

While there was a lot of discussion on silage, Kemin also presented the benefits of ChromLACTTM on alleviating animal stress, especially in the hot, summer season. ChromLACT TM supports animal nutrition and health by reducing cortisol levels, a hormone linked to stress. As a source of organic chromium propionate, ChromLACTTM also facilitates the letdown of milk from the udder, while enhancing feed intake and improving immunity.

In addition to Silage SAVOR® and ChromLACTTM, Kemin offers a complete portfolio of nutritional solutions through their Total Nutrition program. Through Total Nutrition, Kemin delivers safe, healthy and efficient solutions that promote animal nutrition and health.

Congrats to Kemin. Silage usage in dairy ration during summer when greens are not available has been recommended since ages. Silage making on regular basis has been very important issue, which Kemin has been trying to solve through their effort. Good job!
