Dr. Fellner, Dairy Nutritionist and Animal Scientist from USA, visits Dairy Farms of Punjab and Haryana, India

Kemin Agri Foods India invited Dr. Vivek Fellner, a Dairy Nutritionist and Animal Scientist from North Carolina State University, USA to visit selected Dairy farms of Punjab and Haryana, India. Dr. Fellner discussed and advised the farmers on production and reproduction management and gave suggestions to improve over all dairy operations.


Dr. Fellner has a PhD in Dairy Nutrition and works as a professor teaching & performing research in the Dairy and Animal Science department at North Carolina State University. He is also in charge of NCSU Dairy Herd.

During his stay in India, he visited some of the key dairy farms in India alongside Mr.Daljit Singh, President PDFA (Progressive Dairy Farmers Association) Punjab, Mr. Rajpal Singh, Mr.Jitender Singh and Macro Dairy, one of the biggest and unique dairy enterprises of India. He discussed nutritional solutions with the dairy farmers & consultants of the farms. He also provided deep insight on various reproductive problems commonly occurring on dairy farms.



During Dr. Fellner's visit, a series of seminars of progressive dairy farmers were conducted by Kemin Industries South Asia Pvt Ltd. in Punjab & Haryana. He delivered a talk on 'transition animal care and the benefits of organic chromium in transition diet' during the PDFA (Progressive Dairy Farmers Association) seminar in Punjab. Dr. Fellner also lectured on amino acid nutrition. the talks were highly appreciated by the PDFA.


A similar seminar of the PDFA was conducted in Haryana during which he gave an insight on 'transition animal care and protein nutrition'. Kemin Industries South Asia Pvt Ltd. launched its organic chromium supplement for dairy animals, ChromLACT at this seminar.

Apart from these seminars he also concentrated on the feeding of dry cows and the importance of differentiation between far-off and close-up rations of dairy animals.
