Dear Seniors please guid me what type of water required to get maximum yeild of milk from cattle (Cross bred). Can some body guide me that what should be the PH, EC, chloride, calcium, magnessium, carbonates etc for a cattle drinking water to get maximum result.
At the Animal Health Service we use the following criteria for good water for milk cattle: Cattle Good bad pH 5 – 8,5 4 en 9 ammonia (mg/L 2 10 nitrite (mg/L) 0,1 1,0 nitrate (mg/L) 100 200 Chlorid (mg/L) 250 2000 sodium (mg/L) 800 1500 Sulphate (mg/L) 100 250 Iron (mg/L) 0,5 10 Manganese (mg/L) 1,0 2,0 Hardness (°German) 15 25 COD (mg/L) 50 200 Hydrogen sulphide not detectable ( 0,02 mg/L) E. coli (cvu/mL) 100 100 total col. Form units (22 °C) 100 000 100 000
Drinking water for cattle is a useful typic for milk cattle as well as humans. The chemical characters of drinking water are asunder, pH range = 6.5-8.5 ppm TDS = 300-500 ppm Nitrate as Nitrogen = 1.0 ppm Chloride = 250 ppm Potassium = 10 ppm Sulphate = 250 ppm Sodium = 50 ppm Magnesium = 50 ppm Calcium = 100 ppm Choloride = 01 ppm Iron ( Fe) = 0.3 ppm Zinic (Zn) = 3.0 ppm Arsenic = 0.01ppm Copper = 1.0 ppm Lead = 0.01ppm Manganese = 0.05 ppm Selenium = 0.01 ppm Carbon tetrachloride = .002 ppm
