Introduction Traditionally, management of cows during the dry period was minimal. This is an insightful and important article. Based on the diurnal control of lighting it provides enormous possibilities on how to increase
milk
production" style="font-size:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;text-decoration:inherit;">milk production by adjusting lighting for the animals both in lactation and dry. The tropics have a more or less constant light and darkness period but through an effective managemet of the lighting it opens a chance for increased milk production. The only aspect that does not come out clearly and which needs clarification is on whether this applies to natural lighting alone.
How about using artificial lighting, what level of lighting intensity will be appropriate for the same effects to be realized?
Otherwise I am full of praise for the researchers who undertook this study. These are the important innovations that have a definite mark on the
dairy
industry
